The skills development plan

No more Excel file to track training

Requests from your managers and employees are centralised, prioritised and turned into a plan, mandatory or not.

Your catalogue, your providers

List your preferred providers, sort by field and category, configure costs. The catalogue opens up to employees so they can make their requests on their own.

  • Modernised catalogue with tabbed navigation
  • Configurable providers and costs
  • Display variants and saved filters

Gathering needs

Requests come from two places: the employee's personal space, and the dedicated question in your review campaigns. Everything comes together in one place.

  • Needs fed directly from reviews
  • Open request or from the catalogue
  • Lead training officer for each line of the plan

The budget, as it really is

Forecast budget by cost centre, amounts covered by your OPCO, remaining cost calculated, gap between the estimate and actual spending.

  • Tracking of OPCO reimbursements
  • Grand total across all pages
  • Bulk editing and import of scheduled sessions
Mandatory training and certifications

On inspection day, you pull out the matrix

Safety, regulatory compliance, team competence: certifications cannot be managed in a spreadsheet. They are linked to jobs, training and medical check-ups.

A matrix by job

Required or optional certifications are held by the job title. You see at once who should hold what, and who does not.

  • Matrix available as a standard report
  • Prerequisites attached to the job held
  • Status shown as a label in the employee's space

Refresher training, anticipated

From an initial training course, you trigger a renewal session that stays linked to the original. Reminders only go to employees who are still with the company.

  • Renewal training linked to the original session
  • Expiry date calculated from the start or the end, as you choose
  • Reminders filtered on participant status

Proof, attached

Each certification holds its issuing body and its attachments, filed automatically in the employee file.

  • Issuing body, created on the fly if needed
  • Attachments and automatic filing rule
  • Link with exposure risks and medical check-ups
For employees

Everyone tracks their training without asking you

The “My training” space brings together completed sessions, upcoming ones and pending requests, with their status.

The employee's space: what they have completed, what is coming up, and where their requests stand.

An approval workflow, for requests and for the plan

Training requests go through a customisable approval workflow, and the administrator sees all of them and their status. The training plan itself has its own workflow, built on the model of the leave workflow.

A refusal remains possible outside the workflow, with a dedicated reason: the employee knows why, and the decision is recorded.

Measuring the effect

Training that is not evaluated is not managed

Immediate

  • Generated as soon as the session ends
  • Corrects course on quality in real time
  • Captures trainee satisfaction

Delayed

  • Triggered when you decide, in the months that follow
  • Or linked to the individual review
  • Measures what stuck, not what people liked

What you get out of it

  • Full traceability of requests and sessions
  • History available to the employee
  • Decisions on the next plan based on real data

Frequently asked questions

More about the Training module

Can you track reimbursements received from OPCOs?
Yes. Each session has a section dedicated to cost tracking. When you enter the amounts covered by your OPCO, the remaining cost is calculated automatically, and the gap with the initial estimate stays visible.
How are mandatory certifications and their renewal handled?
Required certifications are held by the job title, which gives you a matrix as a standard report. From an existing certification, you trigger a refresher session linked to the original, with an expiry date calculated according to your internal policy. Reminders only go to employees who are still with the company.
Can you set up an approval workflow for training requests?
Yes, and it is customisable. The administrator sees all requests and their status, and triggers approval when needed. The training plan also has its own approval workflow.
Can you send joining instructions to employees from Nicoka HRIS?
You add the joining instructions as an attachment for each participant linked to a session. Employees access them from their personal space, in “My training”, where attachments open in preview.
Do needs raised in reviews feed into the plan?
Yes. A standard question, “Define training needs”, lets the employee and the manager enter needs, from the catalogue or as free text. These requests join the needs gathered and move into the plan according to your priorities.
What is a TMS?
In training, TMS stands for “Talent Management System”. It is a platform that supports the employee lifecycle, with skills management, training planning and tracking, and evaluation.
